From July 18th to 21st, the 3rd Dairy Opportunity & Challenge(DOC)for National Agriculture and Forestry University was held in Baoding, Hebei Province, jointly sponsored by the China Academic Degree and Agriculture and Forestry Discipline Working Committee of Graduate Education Institution and the National Steering Committee of Agricultural Graduate Education. Two student teams in our college were sent to participate, among which the team in Group Beef Cattle won the first prize and the other in Group Dairy won the second prize.
The competition was jointly organized by China Agricultural University and Hebei Agricultural University, and was supported by the National Dairy Industry Technology System, the National Forage Industry Technology System and the National Beef Cattle Industry Technology System. The competition is divided into two modules: on-site fixed operation and evaluation response, each accounting for 50%.
The teachers and students of the College of Animal Science attached great importance to this competition. In order to further improve the practical ability and competitive level of the participating players, the college carefully organized the mobilization and publicity and team selection and other work before the competition, and arranged the instructors to lead the students to Hong Wuyue dairy farm of Yantang Dairy, Hezhou dairy farm of Wenshi dairy and Haotian Henghe beef cattle farm of Hunan Yongzhou for a one-month on-site training and preparation.

During the competition, the players were well-prepared, confident and outstanding. They fully demonstrated the spirit of our college, reflecting the achievements of graduate training and undergraduate talent training reform in our university and college .
It is reported that the contest consisted of 49 teams from 34 universities across China, such as China Agricultural University, Zhejiang University and Nanjing Agricultural University.
