Professor Jiang Honglin and Professor Zhao Fengqi Visit Our College for Academic Exchange

On the afternoon of September 25, 2017, Prof. Jiang Honglin from the Department of Animal and Poultry Science, Virginia Polytechnic University and Prof. Zhao Fengqi from the Department of Animal Science of Vermont University came to the Animal Science Lecture of our College for academic exchange with our faculty and students.The academic exchange was chaired by Professor Wang Xiuqi, Ph.D. supervisor of the College of Animal Science.
Professor Jiang Honglin gave an academic report titled Identification of a new player in skeletal muscle development, growth and contraction. Professor Jiang mainly expounded the important role played by Stac3 in muscle growth and contraction. In combination with the difficulties encountered by his team in scientific research, Professor Jiang shared his experience with teachers and students of our college and encouraged everyone to meet the challenge and never give up.


Professor Zhao Fengqi made an academic report entitled Biology of glucose uptake in bovine mammary gland. First of all, Professor Zhao also expressed his sincere gratitude to our college for the warm invitation. From the perspective of lactation physiology and mammary gland biology, Professor Zhao explained to us the biological mechanism of glucose uptake in bovine mammary glands.

The lecture lasted for three hours and the atmosphere for the live exchange was warm. Not only the teachers and students of our school, but also the  students from other universities studied and exchanged with each other. The two professors not only broadened our scientific research vision but also provided us with a bigger platform and room for development. Finally, Professor Wang Xiuqi again expressed his appreciation for the arrival of the two professors and announced the successful conclusion of the academic exchange.
